Understanding Questions in AnswerHub

Questions are the basic component of AnswerHub. Users can ask other users or experts Questions that relate to specific topics in specific spaces within their AnswerHub community. Questions can have both Answers and Comments to promote the exchange of knowledge across your community. Questions promote community activity by letting users ask other users about different topics and providing a way for users to answer and comment on them.

We organize Questions by spaces to keep them relevant to specific aspects of the community.

Example Scenario

For Example: A company may have a Human Resources space where users can ask questions directly related to their Human Resources department.
In AnswerHub, we sort Questions by their topics and the spaces they nest in. This lets users find the Questions and Answers that are the most relevant to the information they are looking for. Topics help keep a community’s Questions both organized and relevant.

Experts can also answer Questions. Experts are users who know a great deal about a specific topic. The author of a question, and a user who thinks an expert may have the answer, can send questions to an expert to answer them.

What You Can Do With Questions

From the Question User Interface (UI), depending upon permissions, and configured integrations you can do the following:

These features are presented as associated links and buttons below the question or accessed via the gear menu in the top right corner of the question.

Search For An Answer Before Posting A Question

To help keep your AnswerHub site organized and navigable, it is important to search for a Question or the Answer to a Question before you post it. Duplicating information separates the exchange of knowledge and makes it more difficult for users to find the information they are looking for. Performing a quick, simple search for terms related to your Question can help you not only find an answer you may be looking for, but also prevents you from creating duplicate content.

To search for an Answer before posting a Question, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your AnswerHub site.
Result: The AnswerHub User Interface displays.
  2. From the Navigation bar, click on the Search bar.

    Result: The content displays.
  5. To view all the results for a particular search query, press the ENTER or RETURN button on your keyboard, or click the Search icon from the Search bar.
